Our Beekeeping Course for Beginners aims to provide you with the essential knowledge and skills needed to set up and manage a hive safely. Whether you’re completely new to beekeeping or looking to refresh your skills, this course is perfect for everyone.

What You’ll Learn

• Introduction to beekeeping
• Setting up and managing a hive
• Safety practices in beekeeping
• Hands-on experience with hive management

Course Details:

• Duration: 2 Morning classroom training – Followed by afternoon session at our apiary 10:00-16:00
• Practical Training: Weekly access to our training apiary every Saturday 10am – 12:00pm
• Winter Meetings: Monthly sessions to keep you engaged and learning throughout the winter
• Lunch and Refreshment provided

Materials Provided

All necessary materials and information will be provided, including bee suits.

Enrolment and Cost

Cost: £120, which includes  Ambrosian membership to the British Beekeeping Association.

We strongly advocate that new beekeepers complete our Beginners Course and take part in practical training with us throughout the year before getting their first bees.

This way they will build the knowledge and confidence needed to care for their bees successfully. If you already have bees don’t worry – we’re here to support you as well!

While it’s best not to get bees before completing training we understand that some people prefer to dive straight in. Everyone learns differently and we don’t want to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm or deter people from joining us.

Our aim is to guide and support all beekeepers wherever they are on their journey.
